  • Overview

    The Manager Software Engineering, Mobile will lead the Mobile Software Engineering team for Spirit Airlines. The ideal candidate will have technical depth in mobile software development with iOS and Android, business acumen, and strong communication skills. The Mobile Software Engineering team is responsible for consumer facing and internal mobile app software development.

    This is an exciting opportunity to lead and build the development team that will drive the mobile platforms for Spirit Airlines. This role will be a Management focused role, championing of processes and innovation as well as improving the mobile platforms across all of Spirit Airlines.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, manage and prepare best software development team
    • Guide, coach and mentor software development engineers.
    • Provide project management and technical leadership for every aspect of software.
    • Prepare lifecycle for different projects inclusive of research, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management.
    • Supervise architecture plus lead efforts to develop technical roadmap of all projects.
    • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software.
    • Perform closely with Engineers, Developers and Product Management throughout organization to influence product development assisting or improving products.
    • Develop relations with existing and prospective internal customers to interpret all individual requirements.
    • Learn and display as how products would add value to respective business.
    • Ensure top quality design reviews attaining business goals.
    • Supervise resource allocation to assure attainment of apt business and personnel development goals.
    • Involve in strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business with leadership chain, team and with customers.
    • Manage and execute software development projects from beginning to finish.
    • Evaluate projects, develop and update schedules plus supervise project status.
    • Collaborate effectively with all team members as well as hold regular team meetings.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree

    • Minimum 7+ years managing Software Engineering teams focused on Mobile iOS and Android.
    • Airline industry knowledge, preferred
    • Understanding of a wide variety of technologies and platforms.
    • Experience working in an agile software development environment.
    • Proven experience in building, developing and leading high performing teams.
    • Passionate about mobile software engineering and designing mobile technologies.
    • Expert level knowledge of project management processes, systems development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement methods.
    • Comfortable presenting to peers and company executives in addition to gaining buy-in and support for eCommerce software engineering initiatives, releases, and road maps.
    • Able to work in an agile development environment.
    • Able to define and follow application standards.
    • Experience with application and data architectures.
    • Demonstrable skills in creating and debugging SQL and .NET applications
    • Excellent knowledge of Xamarin, C#.NET, Swift, Java, PL/SQL
    • Demonstrable skills utilizing SQL Server.
    • Understanding a wide variety of technologies and platforms.
    • Minimum of at least 6 years of experience in either designing or developing Web Services, C#.NET, Mobile Development platforms for iOS & Android, T-SQL and/or object oriented  architecture.
