  • Overview

    Position leads strategic sourcing initiatives that support business units’ requirements. Primary responsibility includes project assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation of terms to meet quality, cost, and performance targets.


    • Facilitates strategic sourcing supply chain initiatives on behalf of business units.
      Works with Supply Chain management to develop, improve and institutionalize the strategic sourcing process which includes facilitation of: project plan, current state assessment, industry analysis/bench-marking, establishing commodities sourcing strategies, strategies implementation, and establishing supply chain performance metrics.
    • Develops bid documents and requirements specifications.
    • Directs supply chain analyses and sourcing decision analyses.
      Defines business cost drivers and considers total cost-of-ownership in decision analysis.
    • Leverages expertise to lead and facilitate key contract negotiations on behalf of the business units.
      Tracks and reports initiatives’ progress and results to business units’ leaders and to Supply Chain leadership.
    • Builds cross-divisional (e.g., Marketing, maintenance, In-flight, Flight Operations, IT, Finance) consensus that balances operational objectives with financial responsibility.
    • Facilitates positive working relationships and becomes an established business adviser to the Business Units.
    • Communicates, liaises, and negotiates internally and externally using appropriate methods to influence decisions and facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
    • Leads development and implementation of supplier performance metrics and supplier service level performance guarantees for business areas.
    • Utilizes the sourcing process to identify suppliers that create efficiencies and enable cost reduction and increased performance.
    • Leverages contract knowledge to develop and refine various types of agreements common with service providers (e.g., NDAs, Master Agreement, Statement of Work, etc.).
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.)


    • Bachelor
    • 3-5 years experience in related field
    • CPSM Certification desirable
