  • Overview

    The Manager of Optional Services will drive ancillary revenue by analyzing data, forecasting revenue, optimizing sales, and creating marketing campaigns around existing unbundled ancillary items as well as develop new sources of ancillary revenue. Develop and manage strategic plans by researching industry trends and competitors to continue to be the pioneer of unbundled products revenue yield to enhance customer understanding and perception of Spirit’s business model including ancillary items. As a Manager, you will also help develop and cultivate a culture of understanding by being a primary voice on the benefits of unbundled fares.

    Responsibilities

    Drive Ancillary Revenue:

    • Analyze and coordinate with revenue management to determine opportunities for existing revenue streams (bags, seats, passenger usage charge, modification charges, and other
      unbundled products) as well as ascertain and pursue new revenue opportunities to further grow ancillary revenue.

    Product Management:

    • Formalize business requirements of new products and projects to project management organization.
    • Manage projects from conception to implementation so that desired business functionality is achieved.
    • Request and manage designs, create copy and content, and obtain executive level final approval prior to project submission.
    • Monitor projects throughout project lifecycle, analyze project performance post-launch, spearhead product updates based on data.

    Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Utilize Guest trends and business data to accurately forecast product purchases and their impact to ancillary revenue and the overall organization.
    • Create and adhere to a budget for program initiatives. Use data to more precisely predict return on investment for future enhancements and additional projects.

    Product Branding:

    • Create and implement branding strategies for existing unbundled products and optional services.
    • Derive additional brand equity as well as customer understanding and perception of Spirit and the a-la-carte model as we work to brand new ancillary products.
    • Utilize combos as an opportunity to enhance understanding of additional options available to Guests.

    Product Consistency:

    • Work with revenue integrity team to identify areas for improvement in consistency and delivery of ancillary products and policies. Work with airport operations and other channels to ensure delivery of ancillary product policies enhances the customer experience and retention, as well as increase revenue.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Work with legal and customer service to determine new regulatory issues and proactively avoid regulatory issues in new product formation. Additionally work on mitigating of legal issues.
    • Continually review new Department of Transportation guidelines to plot future impacts to ancillary revenue and the organization as a whole.

    Team Development:

    • Develop and cultivate a team for individual ancillary products and revenue management of ancillaries.
    • Guide team members to flawless execution on their revenue goals and develop them for future leadership positions within the organization.
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field(s) of study.
    • 3-5 years of related & demonstrated hands on experience in the following areas:
      • Budgeting & Planning: The ability to accurately forecast revenue and costs.
      • Project Management: Knowledge of the Project Life Cycle and what is necessary to take ideas and turn them into tangible assets.
      • Microsoft Office: A high proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of all of MS Office is necessary to perform daily duties.
      • Resource Planning: The ability allocate limited resources for maximum results
      • Systems-Thinking: Sees how functions and processes integrate and designs linkage to create defect-free, low cost results. Acts as a change agent to achieve.
      • Communications Acumen: Strong abilities in written and verbal communications, crafting messaging and expressing intent powerfully and simply. An acute attention to detail to ensure accuracy and understanding of message.
    • Valid Passport is required with the ability to travel up to 25%.
