  • Overview

    The Senior Financial Analyst supports Spirit's Financial Planning group with the objective of improving our short and long term forecasting accuracy, financial performance, and accountability to financial and operating objectives. 

    Responsibilities

    • Perform responsibilities related the annual budget process, weekly forecast, capital expenditure approval process and tracking, and ad hoc analysis.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the deliverables of the Financial Planning group.
    • Develops and maintains the accuracy and integrity of the data in the budget models and databases.
    • Monthly and quarterly reporting: Responsible for assisting the Manager of Financial Planning in delivering scheduled management reports, which includes the weekly forecast, monthly operating division reports, monthly CAPEX reports, and monthly Board of Directors performance report.
    • Performs ad hoc analysis: Sets objectives with the Manager of Financial Planning, mines data, identifies trends and insights, and delivers accurate and complete reports.
    • Process improvement and report automation: Continually looks for efficiencies in processes and reporting and works with business application owners and the Business Intelligence group to automate and enhance reports.
    • Develops expertise in all financial related systems: Responsible for being the group expert in all systems used in financial planning, which includes SAP, BPC, Bloomberg, and other systems.
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies, change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.)

    Qualifications

    • Masters Degree Required
    • 1-3+ years financial management experience
    • Work-related experience in the airline industry preferred
    • Licenses/Designations: CPA, CMA, and/or CFA
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time using a computer
    • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and complete assignments on-time
    • Rigorous attention to detail
