    As a Configuration Analyst for the IT Development team, you will work proactively with business units, technology partners and development teams to create and maintain technical solutions. The primary responsibilities of the Configuration Business Analyst are to design and maintenance of user access and databases for the production, testing and training environments, creating standards, processes and procedures for the Configuration team. Your experience as an Analyst with software or related IT technologies for this role will be used to analyze business processes using analytical skills to help develop best practices, design future improvements to systems, as well as provide ongoing support to all departments.


    • Provide basic configuration, testing/quality review, documentation and maintenance of applications.
    • Work directly with business units and other stakeholders to gather business requirements.
    • Participate in review, impact assessment, testing and modifications for application updates, upgrades and installations.
    • Support Development with configuration settings that need to be in place in order for the web and/or systems to work properly.
    • Assist with creating and Configuring Deployment, cut-over and rollback plans.
    • Accurately document detailed description of user needs, program functions and business requirements to develop or modify computer programs in order to optimize the implementation of software enhancements, changes and/or new software implementations.
    • Ensure all configurations undertaken are value added and result in a measurable savings to Spirit's bottom line through the avoidance of additional cost or the generation of additional revenues.
    • Provide expert consultation on complex business processes and recommend creative solutions to ambiguous business problems.
    • Support Operations with respect to the NewSkies Reservation System.
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.


    • 3-5 years possessing hands on experience working with end users to identify procedural problems to determine system implications.
    • Experience working in the Airline industry.
    • Basic technical knowledge and understanding of the configuration relationships between subsystems and applications.
    • Good organizational and time-management skills, including prioritizing multiple tasks
    • Strong technical skills to be able to coordinate with Infrastructure on system administration.
    • Ability to analyze business processes and provide guidance on technological solutions.
    • Advanced skills with problem resolution, testing problems, including negative testing. 
    • Ability to recognize and uphold confidential information.
    • Excellent project documentation and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve a collective goal, quickly learn new technologies and share that knowledge with other team members.
    • Proven ability effectively interacting with end users/customers to understand their needs and clearly explain data.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person and via telephone at all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent written communication and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Associate degree required, Technical areas of study preferred.
