  • Overview

    The Director of Organizational Development is responsible for developing and aligning team member life-cycle strategies & programs to support the company's mission and business goals. The leader will be energized and passionate about developing the brand and fueling a guest transformation serving as a pivotal player in shaping our organizational and cultural strategies to support ongoing innovation and change.

     

    This leader will further the company’s vision by driving the Talent Development, Learning, Engagement & Culture functions of the organization to promote and enhance the company’s high-performing, empowering culture for all employee stakeholder groups. The Director will design, implement and champion initiatives to foster and sustain high levels of employee engagement while developing, implementing and measuring programs that promote a high performing workplace while enhancing engagement and sustaining business growth.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with Human Resources and Business Leaders in shaping an organizational development strategy that moves the business towards continued growth, innovation and improvement; fostering a culture of empowerment and performance. Manages organizational development (OD) strategies and processes. Assesses OD needs of operating, business and functional units.
    • Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet OD needs and program goals; Designs and executes key programmatic elements of the OD process. Plans and leads short- and long-term planning for OD. programs; Establishes a career-pathing infrastructure; Optimizes the succession planning process; Develops an onboarding process and program.
    • Provide expertise, consulting and advisory support to leaders; Guide the creation & execution of team member experience programs, processes and strategic initiatives.
    • Leverage data and analytics to support and inform business decisions; continuously assess organizational effectiveness.
    • Assists with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding OD methods and tools; Drives the foundations of strengths management. embedding the principles and practices into the DNA of the organization.
    • Manage professional & management learning through the Spirit LEARN-ATARIUM.
    • Manages the development planning process for executives and emerging leaders. Supports HRBP team with tools to develop professional level team members.
    • Provides consultative services to the business units regarding mentoring.
    • Manages the Gallup partnership ensuring tools & platforms for organizational development are aligned and used to full capacity.
    • Manage the engagement survey process and creation/management of action plans by functional area/business unit.
    • Oversees the culture & engagement team involved in employee events, corporate social responsibility and community affairs.
    • Prepares budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.

    Qualifications

    Your well-rounded HR background, strong business acumen, project management and implementation skills will leverage your strategic direction for the development and implementation of employee experience strategies, systems, processes and tools that facilitate company-wide goals. You will build, lead and continuously develop direct reports by establishing performance goals, measuring the outcomes, and driving employee engagement. As a highly visible and collaborative leader, you will liaise with Human Resources and business leaders to optimize value, reduce risk, evaluate options, and make recommendations to executive management.

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR/Talent Management roles with a proven track record of building and optimizing processes, systems and structures
    • Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Leadership or related field (Master’s degree is strongly preferred)
    • HR/Talent Management experience within a large, complex global organization with a large employee population is preferred
    • Relevant professional certifications encouraged
    • 3-5 years of experience leading people and cross-functional organizations
    • Strong ability to own, execute and deliver on short- and long-term projects
    • Strategic and innovative thinker; able to prioritize and use sound judgment and decision-making
    • Solid project management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
    • Executive presence with excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong business acumen and high EQ to successfully collaborate with executives and business partners at all levels
    • Expert relationship management experience and skills; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with field and corporate team members
    • Current or previous multi- country and multi-site experience preferred.
