  • Overview

    This position combines the skills and experience of a Software Developer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, and Quality Assurance analyst. The ideal candidate will administer and configure systems that build, configure, deploy, and test applications. The position will administer and advocate use of Team Foundations Server 2017, AppDynamics, and Splunk. They will build configuration and automation tools to simplify the process of deploying, upgrading, and scaling systems and software across the Spirit environment. In addition to administering on premise technology, this position will participate in the creation and advancement of Spirit’s cloud presence in Azure.

    Responsibilities

    • Team Foundations Server 2017.
    • Scheduled tasks and development related orchestration.
    • AppDynamics Administration and Dashboards.
    • Splunk Scripting.
    • Advancement of Spirit’s cloud presence in Azure.
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Security Module (HSM) Cloud HSM.
    • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or equivalent.  
    • Experience working with Navitaire or equivalent reservation system a plus.
    • 1+ years’ experience in writing software systems.
    • 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining high-traffic environments serving a high level of requests per second.               
    • Strong experience in Microsoft Azure.
    • Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
    • Experience with Team Foundation Studio (TFS.)
    • Experience working with AppDynamics & Splunk.
    • Experience with deployment testing and automation tools.
    • Concurrent Versioning Software Experience (Git, GitHub or Bitbucket).
    • Exposure in building scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructures.
    • Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies and skills.
    • Experience with 2 or more programming languages such as C#, JSon, XSL, Python, Java or JavaScript etc.
    • Experience with of configuration management tools.
    • Capable of troubleshooting application and system issues at any level of the stack
    • Strong communication skills - able to work effectively with technical and non-technical teammates.
    • Command strong leadership and critical thinking skills    
    • Unafraid to tackle difficult challenges    
    • Aptitude to build innovative solutions to real world problems.   
    • Excellent communicator who summarizes technical details in a precise and succinct manner understandable to business users.
